Abstract

Este trabajo quiere dar a conocer la importancia que tiene hoy la innovación como fuente de ventaja competitiva, esta ha generado un interés muy alto por identificar sus determinantes, como lo es la literatura, que destaca como la cultura empresarial puede estimular la innovación pero también obstaculizarla, los resultados muestran que diferentes tipos de cultura tienen efectos distintos sobre la innovación, es decir que la cultura de tipo de adaptación favorece la innovación, mientras que la de tipo jerárquico la afecta negativamente, adicionalmente se ha profundizado en qué características de cada tipo de cultura explican en mayor medida su efecto sobre la innovación, encontrándose que la característica que más incide en la innovación son los valores compartidos por el personal, también se observa un mayor efecto sobre la innovación cuando todos los rasgos que componen dicha cultura son internamente compatibles o coherentes, los resultados obtenidos contribuyen a la literatura y en la relación entre cultura e innovación y tienen implicaciones para el ámbito empresarial que tenemos hoy en nuestro entorno (Damanpour y Gopalakrishnan, 2001)
